Avatar the Last Airbender | Book Three: Fire

And that wraps up my Avatar rewatch! What's cool is that I finished the finale, and then the very next day my family and I watched the new animated Avatar Aang movie. (Brief little sidenote, Avatar Aang was AMAZING, but I'll save that particular bit of fangirling for another time. XD)

There are so many phenomenal episodes this season. We've got "The Boiling Rock," "Day of the Black Sun," "The Headband," "The Beach". Pretty much every episode was incredibly fun and/or moved the plot and character arcs forward in really beautiful and healing ways.

All the characters just really came through for the finale and it was just amazing! My favorite character is still Zuko and favorite villain is still Azula. But this rewatch, I was also paying a bit more attention to Aang because, if memory serves, I've seen a couple people online say something along the lines of that they'd appreciated his gentle airbending spirit a lot more now that they were older. And I ended up feeling the same way.

So yeah, it was just a great show and a lovely little summer project to rewatch each season and come share little rambles here. <3

Avatar The Last Airbender | Book Two: Earth

I hugely appreciate Appa's willingness to fly us all over the world, however, no one is perfect, and an issue I have with him is that he can just be a touch too panicky at times XD. I'm looking at you, "The Cave of Two Lovers".

But I will say that during episode 15, my heart softened a ton toward the big sky bison. They did a phenomenal job with that episode. In this recent rewatch, I began to suspect that Momo is older than Appa because Momo seems more steady and mature. And there's a scene in episode 15 which implies Appa is somewhere in the ballpark of 4-6 years old, which, if that's still young in sky bison years, it totally accounts for the vibes I'm getting. So I would assume maybe Momo is more of a teenager or older in animal years.

Azula is one of the coolest and most terrifying villains ever, Toph is my role model, and I lowkey understand Katara a little better for how she acts toward a certain character in the next season. What happened was pretty bad, actually.

It's crazy, I know, but I actually like the songs sung by the wanderers in "The Cave of Two Lovers". I've had the one they sing at the end of the episode stuck in my head off and on for years.

Currently watching | Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender Trailer

Well, this looks amazing.
I still wish they'd brought back the original voice actors but I can’t complain too much cause this looks phenomenal.

edit: just found out Keith from Voltron: Legendary defender is playing Zuko, so now I really can't be mad XD.
